336 Marketplace in Grand Central Park, Conroe

Dog Lovers – it looks like a new Petsmart is coming to Conroe.  The commercial location called 336 Marketplace; which is part of the new master development in Grand Central Park, Conroe is the new location for Petsmart.   This is great because who doesn’t like to take their pup to the pet store.

Conroe residents have been looking forward to the opening of 336 Marketplace and looking at the progress we should see stores opening in late Spring and Summer this year.

Other stores coming (but not necessarily Pet Friendly) are the new Kroger Marketplace, Ross, Marshall’s, Michael’s and Dick’s Sporting Goods.   Also there will be a Cinemark Movie Theatre.

Close by to the new Petsmart in Grand Central Park are new homes, patio homes and townhomes being built.  This master community will have 10 miles of nature trails for walking and biking, several lakes and picnic areas.  So if you are looking to buy a new home that you and your dog can really enjoy these natural type amenities – then give me a call.

Candy Cane Park, Conroe – Dog Friendly

Great park in central Conroe

Great park in central Conroe that you can take your dog.

Candy Cane Park is as nice as its name.  It is a great place to take your dog for a walk and it is centrally located in Conroe just off IH 45.   I suggest you park on the southside of the park – just up the hill.   You can pick up a Mutt Mitt and grab a drink of water.  Love that there is a dog spicket too.

One of my friends walks here often with her German Shepherd.   You will find a paved walkway (3/8 mile) going around the park, the play areas, pavilions and the lighted tennis courts.  There are plenty of open areas to play and several spots to stop and rest.   Remember you must keep your dog on a leash.

Also be sure to check out the helicopter on the northside which is part of the VFW.   Just a short walk over from the paved trail.   See you around the park!   For more info on Places to go:

Don’t Take Your Dog to Firework Displays

Scary Fireworks Obviously a Fireworks Display is not where most people will take their dogs  – but then maybe everyone doesn’t realize that is A VERY BAD IDEA!

Dogs are very scared on this wonderful American holiday… By the way… HAPPY 4TH!

So there are some tips to help keep your dog safe and secure during the craziness of the 4th of July Fireworks evening (remember the nights before and after too!).   Find distractions, play with them, turn up the music or TV in the house, hug and love on them during this traumatic time.

I attached a picture of a wrap that was suggested by a friend.  It replicates the idea based on “Thunder” shirts providing gentle compression to aid in calming. Not sure if it works – BUT IT’S WORTH A TRY!

Also – this is a great opportunity to dress up your dog for a 4th of July parade or to share in the family photo album or Facebook.  I thought you might enjoy some of my favorites.    Check out my website too!
